Wendell A. Samuels had a terrific career as a star in multiple sports for the Claflin Panthers. He earned All-SEAC honors in football as a senior in 1964. He also earned all-conference honors as well.
Following his collegiate career, he went on to have a terrific career in the military and law enforcement. he went on to serve as a volunteer coach in football and basketball from 1971-81 at Anacostia Senior High School. He also served as a member of the DC Police Department’s Choir, Head Trustee at Salem Baptist Church, a member of Sanctuary Gospel, and Men’s Chorus at Salem Baptist Church.
