Robert E. Grant had a terrific career with the Claflin Panthers men’s basketball team. He was a four-year member of the team and he served as co-captain during his senior season. While at Claflin, he also served as a manager on the football team. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Claflin University in 1958.
Following his collegiate career, he went on to take on serve as boys basketball head coach at Martha Schofield High School and then at Aiken High School. He also served as an assistant men’s basketball coach at the University of South Carolina-Aiken. He also served as an official with the South Carolina High School League for over 20 years at the high school and middle school levels.
